The Team The Energy (Projects & M&A) team in Houston is widely recognised for its strategic advisory role in complex energy and infrastructure projects across the Americas, Africa, and Asia. The team is particularly active in emerging areas like carbon capture, hydrogen, battery storage, and tax credit transactions related to renewable energy. Leveraging an extensive international network, the team provides clients with seamless legal solutions that are innovative and commercially sound, often collaborating on projects with deep regulatory and financial considerations.
The Role This role involves advising on a range of energy transition and infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating critical agreements, such as offtake, procurement, supply, construction, JV's and associated M&A transactional documents. The successful candidate will work with high-profile clients on pioneering projects, contributing to the development of transformative energy solutions in the United States and abroad.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting, negotiating, and advising on a variety of energy project agreements, including supply, construction, and operational contracts
- Supporting transactions in areas like CCUS, renewable fuels, and hydrogen projects
- Providing strategic advice on regulatory compliance and project financing matters
- Collaborating with cross-practice teams on complex cross-border transactions
- Developing strong client relationships and providing commercially focused guidance
Key Requirements The ideal candidate will have
3+ PQE in energy, projects, construction or corporate M&A (energy transactions). The successful applicant should demonstrate:
- Strong experience with energy project contracts, particularly in renewable or energy transition sectors
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- A collaborative and proactive approach to client service
- Ability to manage complex, high-stakes transactions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A commitment to developing expertise in the energy and infrastructure sectors

MUST have excellent academic credentials, major law firm experience, and be licensed to practice in Texas or eligible for admission.
