Our client is one of Australia's fastest growing national firms with a top tier equivalent employment practice.

Employment team

The national Workplace Relations and Safety practice is comprised of 11 Partners, 2 Special Counsels and 1 Consultant across their Australian offices. The team provides the full gamut of employment, industrial and occupational health and safety advice.

Position Description

This role has arisen from recent growth and will see you joining the Sydney Employment team to work closely with four experienced and highly regarded partners.  The remainder of the team is made up of 7 lawyers of varying levels and a couple of graduates.

This role will see you working for major corporates across a range of industries including: aviation and transport, manufacturing and distribution, resources, financial services, local government, franchising and not for profits.

You will provide the full gamut of employment advice including:
  • employee entitlements and employment conditions;
  • drafting enterprise agreements, employment contracts, executive service agreements and independent contractor agreements;
  • termination of employment matters including advice on redundancy, and unfair dismissal and unfair contract claims;
  • post employment restraint matters;
  • discrimination, harassment and bullying claims; and
  • OH&S matters including coronial inquiries and prosecutions.
Requirements

The successful applicant will have between 4-8 years post admission experience from a reputable employment team. Ideally you will have been exposed to a wide range of employment matters including IR and corporate employment.

In addition, you will: 
  • have strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills; 
  • have the ability to work independently yet also as a part of a team; and
  • be looking to continue building your own professional profile.
