The Team

The Sydney Corporate & Commercial team includes a number of partners that cover the full range of corporate transactions and advice across M&A (public and private), ECM, funds management, intellectual property and technology, media and telecommunications, consumer law, franchising and corporate governance. 

In particular, their M&A team is ranked amongst the top in Australia by number of completed deals and are therefore well placed to advise local and international businesses on all aspects of large and mid-market transactions.
 
The Role
 
Due to continued growth, the team is looking to recruit a talented Associate to work with senior partners on a range of high-profile corporate matters.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior partners on a diverse range of corporate matters, including equity capital markets (ECM), public and private M&A, corporate governance, and strategic advisory work. The role involves handling equity capital markets transactions such as IPOs, ASX listings, and secondary raisings, as well as advising on private and public M&A, business structuring, and director duties.
 
Requirements

To be successful, you will be an admitted lawyer in Australia with 3-5 years post admissions experience in ECM, M&A or related corporate areas. 

Additionally, you will have: 
  • A strong academic transcript from a reputable university
  • Advanced drafting skills
  • The ability to build and foster strong client relationships
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Proven leadership capabilities with an interest in mentoring junior team members
