Our client is one of Australia's largest commercial law firms with a strong reputation for advising private and public sector clients across the region.
They are currently looking to expand their renowned
Litigation practice with the addition of a
Senior Associate to be based in their Melbourne office.
The Team
You will collaborate with a diverse team of approximately 30 professionals in Melbourne, gaining exposure to a wide variety of matters across multiple sectors.
The firm’s practice spans complex disputes in areas such as construction, insolvency and restructuring, defamation, trust disputes, banking, real estate, environmental law, white-collar fraud, and intellectual property. You will have the chance to work across various service lines and engage with senior practitioners and special counsel across the group.
The Role
This role will involve managing a variety of large-scale and complex litigation matters. You will be responsible for handling general commercial dispute resolution cases and preparing legal advice on regulatory issues, while also assisting in engagement with regulators.
Additionally, you will take a leading role in liaising with clients, opposing lawyers and barristers, in addition to contributing to the firm’s business development efforts.
Requirements The ideal candidate will have at least
4 years' post-admission experience, ideally gained from a global, top-tier, or strong mid-tier practice. You will have a proactive and curious attitude towards your work, with a strong desire to engage in diverse legal areas.
Additionally, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Law and a current Practising Certificate for the relevant jurisdiction.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and procedures.
- Experience managing large-scale document review tasks, using technology-assisted review platforms like Relativity.
- Excellent critical reasoning and analytical skills with the ability to think laterally.
