Scenario:
Our client was a global tech company, that sought a lawyer on a casual basis to set up their Australian legal function. They had no local legal team and outsourced all of their work to external legal providers. They were growing, and sought to bring on an ad-hoc commercial technology lawyer, as part of an ongoing project, to help set up their internal legal function and systems, but weren’t ready to hire someone on a permanent basis.
