Director
Glenn is a Director at Montgomery Advisory, based in London. His practice focuses on inbound, outbound and lateral recruitment for the UK, Australian and international private practice legal markets.
He recruits lawyers at all levels nationally and internationally in almost every area of commercial law including banking & finance, competition, construction, employment, energy & resources, environment & planning, financial services and regulatory, funds & superannuation, government/administration, information technology, insolvency, insurance, intellectual property, litigation and dispute resolution, mergers & acquisitions, OH&S, infrastructure projects, real estate, and tax.
By way of background, Glenn grew up in Scotland and studied English Literature at the University of St Andrews (graduating with a Master of Arts, Honours) before studying an accelerated LLB and DLP at the University of Aberdeen.
He trained as a lawyer with Scottish top tier law firm Maclay Murray & Spens (now Dentons), before moving to specialist corporate & finance firm Blackwood Partners where he focused on Banking & Finance matters, predominantly for the energy industry. Glenn then spent a year at offshore magic circle firm Appleby in the Channel Islands before relocating to Sydney in 2016. He spent 3 years with Montgomery in Sydney before returning home in mid-2019 to open the firm’s UK office.
Highlights of Glenn’s recruitment career to date include assisting a leading corporate lawyer in Sydney with a move to a New York “White Shoe” firm; assisting a couple with their simultaneous moves from leading firms in Edinburgh to top tier firms in Sydney; placing 17 lawyers in 18 months with a key top tier client; and helping a lawyer with primary carer duties transition from a government position into their dream private practice role.
Glenn enjoys building and maintaining lasting relationships with both his candidates and client firms and is always keen to speak with talented lawyers looking to take the next step in their career. Having been a lawyer (and a candidate) in the past, he emphasises transparency, responsiveness and honesty in all facets of his practice.
